Editable Earthdawn character sheets

UPDATE 8th September 2013

Thanks to UglyGoblin, the creator of the character sheets, I can present you the original sheet in a new "scroll"-look. The text fields of the scroll character sheet can't be edited yet. The original sheets were updated and received new user rights and can now be saved with Acrobat Reader too. Thanks for the comments. Here is the redesigned (currently non editable) sheet:

As I recently updated the downloads section, I realized that the Earthdawn Blog provided only once an Earthdawn character sheet. Now the “old” editable Third Edition Earthdawn character sheet gets accompany by the sheet that UglyGoblin sent me. And as I prefer editable sheets I “simply” made it editable.
The PDF’s are based on the original 3rd edition character sheet and comes in two versions. One has the D12 dice table and the other has the D20 based dice table on it. All the fields and boxes can be edited.

Extras:
At the bottom of first page are 6 fields to count whatever you need. The sheet also has five slots for elixirs, 10 slots for blood magic and it contains three big fields for discipline abilities descriptions of the character. Have a look at the two character sheets.

May you interested in renaming the data field names into names which are already handled by the Earthdawn Character Editor? e.g. see https://sourceforge.net/p/ed-char-editor/source/ci/master/tree/documentation/ed3_character_sheet_Ajfel%2BMordom.data_fields.txt or https://sourceforge.net/p/ed-char-editor/source/ci/master/tree/documentation/ed3_extended_character_sheet.data_fields.txt

In this case, I can directly include your char sheet into the ECE as an additionally PDF export.

I love the layout of your character sheets but it is a shame the editing rights set up don't permit saving the completed sheet, only printing it out. As I have Adobe Reader only and not a full pdf editor, and no skill in manipulating pdfs I cannot adjust that setting myself.

Is there any chance of reuploading the sheets with full ability to save data? That way when a character learns another Talent the entire sheet doesn't need to be filled out all over again.

    Thanks.

    Mordom says:

The ability to modify and save the sheet is an Adobe Reader problem and not a problem of the sheet rights. Simply use any other PDF Reader as maybe Foxit Reader. Then your changes can be saved.

    Psychman says:

An additional observation between the editable forms I can save using reader and those I cannot - the ones I can save I also appear to have the freedom to add signatures, comment, and even have an "extended" toolbar selection on the right hand side. These are greyed out and unavailable in the forms I cannot save. The reader shows a purple bar in both cases. In the ones I can save it says "Please fill out the following form. You can save data typed into this form." In those where I cannot it says "Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form. Please print the completed form if you would like a copy for your records."

As my previous post said there does appear to be an extra component that can be added to Adobe professional to grant full rights access to Reader users of a form, and hopefully other editors also have that option, if you are using another editor.

I hope this information has been useful to help you to track down that extra functionality.

A different question - Where would you put Talent Knacks on this sheet?

    Mordom says:

Good question, Talent Knacks seem to be missing. Maybe UglyGoblin will find some time to add Talent Knacks to the sheet.

    UglyGoblin says:

I thought about talent knacks, but as separate, additional page, maybe also with Questors powers. What do You think about this? If You have any ideas how to improve this sheet, that would be very helpfull.
