Well folks, Mongoose Publishing is selling all Earthdawn books for just £9.99 (about 12€ or 15.5$). I don’t know why they sell out, or if it is a price error. But this doesn’t matter now, take the chance to extend your Earthdawn collection. I also don’t know how long the prices will be cut, I guess the sell out is valid as long as supplies last. Updates will follow as I find out more about the reasons of this price cut.

The Mongoose Signs&Portents magazines are free E-books that were monthly released. 93 issues were released, since the production ended in August 2011.

When RedBrick LLC started to cooperate with Mongoose Publishing, some of the S&P issues contained Earthdawn content too, cause so far all the other Mongoose products were part of these free E-books. I already reported about the issues which had Earthdawn relevant content over here and here. Unfortunately are the links of my previous articles offline, because of the restart of Mongoose’ homepage. Mongoose publishing recently released its monthly free magazine Signs & Portents in issue # 91. The this time included Earthawn content introduces a new discipline called “Paragon” which is based on the Templar Knight. So what is the new discipline about?

Paragons are the soldiers chosen by the Passions to defend their works and spread their influence to all corners of Barsaive. They normally organise themselves into military orders headed by an inner  core or fraternity and focus primarily on defensive and social Talents.

The “Paragon” is designed for Earthdawn Third Edition rules and the 11 pages about the new discipline provide a deep insight into the history of the discipline, new Talents/Knacks and even a sample Paragon character is provided. It was all written by David Marshall who simply send his discipline design to Mongoose as they published it now.
Some of you might say, “hey what do I need a “passion discipline” when the game system already provides Questors?” The chapter “On the Paragon and the Questor” tries answer this question and explains the differences of Questors and Paragons.
All in all it is a very well done discipline description and can enrich your game, so have a look at the Signs & Portents issue # 91 at the Mongoose Signs & Portents archive.

Well Mongoose publishing releases almost every month an issue of Signs & Portents wherein they offer free stuff of their RPG systems. We already saw some content for Earthdawn in the issues # 72, # 74 and # 84,  but as I read today on the Earthdawn forum, the newest issue of Signs & Portents # 88 is out. I wouldn’t report about it if there wasn’t a very interesting Earthdawn chapter with an excerpt of the upcoming Cathay books in it. Additional information about the discipline of the Daughter of Heaven are included, one of the 11 new disciplines that come with the release of the Cathay sourcebooks.

But additionally, as the title of this article says, the character stats of the most well known Daughter of Heaven are completely listed. The stats of Su Shen one of the protagonists of the novels Dark Shadows of Yesterday and Immortal Twilight written by Hank Woon can nowhere else be found, as my buddy Sethariel told me, which means that they aren’t included in the Cathay books and can only be found in the freely available #88 at the Signs & Portents archive.
